Monitoring water is a constant job in irrigation enterprises.  The time and expense associated with checking the status of pumps and pressures, flow rates and heights is a constant task.
RMTeK has developed a suite of water monitoring technologies to assist with the remote management of water in irrigation systems.  Specific hardware available and currently under development for implementation includes:

•    Pump Monitoring - A system to monitor pump operation, alarm for abnormal conditions, and retrieve data from flow-meters if fitted
•    Channel Height Sensor - Ultrasonic sensor for measuring water height. Can be connected to pump monitor for any channels, or drains near the pump site
•    Channel Monitor - Measure flow rates at strategic locations around farm
•    Storage Monitor - Telemetry unit to allow data transfer from existing storage level meters
•    GPS tracking and flow rate monitoring of pivot and lateral irrigators (Valley, T&L, Lindsay)

Our systems are designed to allow the user to log on to check the status of the water infrastructure that is being monitored at any time. Different components can be alarmed so that users can receive an SMS alarm, for example, when a water level becomes too high or too low.
